Easter Morning

For Easter, we stayed at G&G Squires'. On the morning of we colored some eggs. Eli's first time.

I loved this outfit on him. It makes him looks so grown up.

Easter

Every year my Aunt Sherie does an Easter Egg hunt for the nieces and nephews. This year Eli got to participate. It was fun to watch but he didn't really get what was going on. He mostly liked being with the other kids.

First Easter Egg Eli found.

Getting the hang of it but we had to show him where they were.

This one required a little height, good thing we had daddy.

Once we found all of Eli's eggs, he enjoyed playing in the snow.

Happy Easter!

Eli loves to go to Grandma and Grandpa Squires' to play in the water

Whenever we go visit Great Grandma Squires, Eli likes to serenade us with a song.

We went to Trin's dance recital and it was extremely hot. At the end Eli had a blast playing outside where it was nice and cool. This would be his happy face at leaving the hot stuffy air.

It is kind of hard to tell in this picture, but Dan found Eli in his windowsill. Eli's room has windows about two or three feet off the ground. He discovered he could climb up into it. I swear there isn't anything this boy can't climb. As of to date he has climbed the entertainment center, the window, our bed (which is pretty high off the ground), his changing table, his crib, the kitchen table, his high chair, and the couch (which he did go up over and got stuck behind it). He always keeps us on our toes.

Eli loves to be like daddy. Even to the point of wearing daddy's clothes.

Sorry this picture is dark but it so darn cute! This is at Naiya's dance recital. Apparently Eli didn't like the music, he kept plugging his ears.

Just to the east of our place is a canal. Eli absolutely loves to walk (run) down there and throw rocks in the water. This day we were lucky, we saw some ducks.

One evening we decided to go to the park and have a picnic. Dan and Eli took the bike and since I can't ride right now, I drove. Didn't make a lot of sense except Eli loves to go on bike rides with daddy. So it was worth it.

We got a pizza and enjoyed the shade. Then we went for our very first ride on the Merry-Go-Round. Eli had a fun time!

Of course we couldn't leave without going down the slide. One of Eli's favorite things to do.

This boy is definitely his father's son. Eli enjoying BBQ chicken and loving the BBQ sauce. Dan makes me laugh at how much he likes BBQ sauce. He even invented the SalsaQ, BBQ sauce mixed with salsa. Gross if you ask me, but I don't have to eat it.

Somebody left the pantry door open. Right now Eli loves to be a helper. When we have breakfast he loves to carry the oatmeal and the applesauce to the counter. He also loves to put the wet clothes into the dryer. As great of a helper he is, he sometimes goes above and beyond the call, like in this picture.

In June Dan attended a conference in California. Here are a couple of pictures showing the beautiful water and one handsome fellow.

We certainly miss Dan when he is gone but love it when he comes home!

Eli loves to wear this as his hat. I think it makes him look like he is preparing for an alien invasion. I couldn't ever get a great picture of it on him so this is the best I had.

This adorable boy definitely takes after me, he loves his blankets. These two soft blue ones were his favorite during the winter months when it was cold.

Eli's first taste of a Wendy's frosty. He loved it and we loved the little milk mustache it left.

Enjoying one of our few sunny days (taken earlier in the year).

Eli loves to show people where his belly button it.

Super handsome boy in his Easter outfit. Not sure where the other Easter pictures are. I will have to ask Dan.

This boy loves to watch for when daddy comes home and gets crazy excited when he sees him.

Another one of Eli hats.

I can't keep this little boy out of my drawer, but this picture was just too cute to scold.

We love to go visit daddy at work. Every time we walk down this hallway, Eli has to sit in this open locker.

Eli has learned he can crawl out of his car seat and into the front of the car. If we aren't paying attention, he can be really fast. He loves to climb up to the driver's seat to "drive."
Daddy having fun!

Eli decided he was going to "help" me vacuum. At least he had fun while working.

Take Me Out to the Ball Game

April 29 was a busy and long day for Eli. My sister blessed her baby and because we attended her ward, poor Eli missed his nap. He feel asleep in the car on the way to Rigby and on the way home from Rigby. So he slept for about 20 minutes total, his usual nap lasts about 1 1/2 to 2 hour. By the time we made it home that evening, he was one tired boy. He was whinny and nothing seemed to make him happy. Since Dan had a six o'clock church meeting I decided Eli was going to have an early bath and bedtime. I took Eli upstairs, got him undressed, and tried to convince him to head to the bathroom. Instead he ran to his window, he loves to look out the window at the birds, passing cars and whatever else he can see. I couldn't convince him to come to the bathroom so I decided to start the bath water to see if that would draw him in. I turned it on and waited...no Eli.  Just as I stepped out to get him, Eli comes running in in all his naked glory with his baseball cap on. It was adorable. I wish I could have taken a picture but again, he wasn't exactly dressed appropriately.

Januaryisms

I realize that I post rather infrequently.  For that reason, here are a few pictures and videos taken with my phone over the last month.

I love coming home to this boy, he gets so excited.  Too bad he's more interested in looking outside than seeing me on this day.

Eli loves to look out this window, it's right at his level.  Except that he occasionally bites the window sill. The UPS and/or Fed Ex trucks always stop right outside and he likes to watch them.

It has been years since I've had a good Nerf War. Luckily Calin was willing to indulge me.

My first new Nerf guns in probably 15 or so years. My coworkers and I decided that since we work in what used to be the Junior High School building, we can't let the space go to waste, so someday soon we'd like to have a Nerf war.  When that day comes, I'll be ready!

This boy is so dang cute. He has been off the binky since early November, but they have just been sitting on Jess' nightstand, which he can reach easily.  So, every now and then this is what we'd find, one in each hand and one in his mouth hiding a big grin. The binkies have since been relocated.

Believe it or not, this is a happy face. He scrunches his face and breathes in and out through his nose. He's silly.

Eli definitely has a silly side. He loves to laugh at mom and dad when they're dancing around and being silly. He has started to dance lately.

He has also turned into a mooch lately. Here he is eating some of a fruit smoothie I brought home from work.

Our future piano man.

The three of us were able to ride to church together today, which doesn't happen often. Since we did, however, Eli and I had to wait for Jess to finish choir practice.  We made the rounds in the halls, but spent most of our time in the gym. Luckily for us we took home a tuckered out little boy who ate dinner and went straight to bed! (Church is 1:30-4:30pm, choir until 5:30pm)

An hour or so after he went down, I went to check on him and this is what I found.  Silly boy had the blankets completely over his head!

Thanks for taking the time to read our blog.  We're a little sorry that we don't post more often, but we hope that you won't give up on us entirely!
