Battle Wound

Yesterday I went to the doctor for my annual check up. While there, the doctor wanted to take some blood to run some tests. One was to check my thyroid and I didn't understand what the other two were. This was the first time that I ever had to give blood and I was a little nervous. I had always heard horror stories about doctors taking blood about how bad it hurt, but it really wasn't that bad. After she was done she was worried because it was swollen and she thought it was going to bruise. She kept apologizing and saying how bad it was going to look. I could see it was a little swollen once she took the needle out but to me it didn't look bad. Once I got home I took the band-aid off, everything looked really good, it didn't look swollen anymore. The only bad thing was that it hurt to move my arm, it was really tender. Towards the evening, everything was fine it looked good and I could move my arm with no trouble. Then I woke up this morning to this.

I guess I did bruise after all. I was so hopeful that it wasn't going to happen. Now I am claiming it as my battle wound from the doctors office.

Blame it on Dan! Remind me sometime to tell you about the first time I donated blood.

Um, how does plasma boy have problems with donating blood?

You know that with all those times that you get needles stuck in you, that eventually you are going to stuck with a battle wound. You do get bragging rights.

Does my arm look manly?!?!Because this is Jess, not Dan :)

Wow Jess -- that is a pretty good bruise. You know if I was there....I would want to push it. I think that pushing bruises is the coolest/weirdest sensation ever. Good job on the battle scar!

Marinda, you're hilarious. My first thought when I saw the bruise was "too bad Marinda is not here, she would want to touch it."

What, am I dainty? Give me a little credit, I have scar tissue for veins (and bones of granite, for that matter) that don't leak!

I Thought it was Dan too. Not because of a manly arm but because he's the one always getting stuck with needles.

My apologies. I'm bad. I can't read 'POSTED BY JESS'. Maybe Calin should read it to me.

Sorry, my bad. I think it's just normal for us to associate needles with Dan. Sorry for the bruise!

That may be true, Kate, but the result of my needle is CASH, not bruises!
